1. World Environmental Day Celebrations-2023
Theme: Beat plastic pollution
Speaker: K.V.G.K. Vara Prasad, Lecturer in Botany, GDC(A), Tuni
World environmental day is celebrated on 05 June 2022 by Department of sciences, Government Degree College K.Perumallapuram, under the chairmanship college principal Dr.M.V.K. Mehar. This programme was celebrated to spread awareness among people about environmental conservation and value of nature in our lives. Speaker of this programme Sri. K.V.G.K. Vara Prasad spoke about how human beings live harmony with nature and consequences we face if we not maintain the environment sustainably. Also the slogan 2023 beat plastic pollution calls for collective transformative action on a global scale to eradicate plastic pollution and celebrate, protect and restore our planet, our common home. On this occasion essay writing and online quiz is conducted among students and presented with awards for winners. Faculty members, Non-Teaching staff and students participated to this programme.
- National Reading Day Celebrations-2023
Theme: A Celebration of Literacy
The national reading day is celebrated by college NSS unit as a tribute to the renowned Kerala teacher Puthuvayil Narayana Panicker, he is widely acknowledged as a father of the Library movement in Kerala. On this occasion college principal emphasize the importance of reading in our lives, development of reading skills, creativity, analytical thinking and enhanced concentration. On this occasion teaching, non-teaching staff and students were attended.
3. International yoga day celebrations -2023
Theme: Yoga vasudhaiva kutumbikam-2023
As per the call given by honourable prime minister Narendra Modi to celebrate 21 June as International yoga day. By directions of college principal Dr.M.V.K. Mehar, college IQAC and NSS unit organized International Yoga Day in GDC, Perumallpuram. G.Satyanarayana, Yoga Guru, invited as a chief guest of this programme and spoke about different asanas in yoga and importance of yoga in health. Teaching, non- teaching and students participated to this programme
4.Internships Evaluation:
The internship evaluation is carried out to VI semester students after completion of their industry connect training programme. For this an evaluation committee is constituted by mentor, subject expert and one person from outside.
